I am an Associate Solicitor in the Banking and Finance Litigation team based in the firm’s London office, I aim to provide easy to understand advice to clients. I take pride in delivering a high-quality service to my clients in an efficient, professional, and timely manner. I work passionately to ensure clients are happy with the quality of my work, and the standard of my service.
Area of Expertise
Banking and Financial Litigation
- Bank & Advisor misconduct claims;
- Contractual claims;
- Financial disputes – including negligent advice by banks and financial advisors;
- Financial mis-selling claims – including investments and mortgage mis-selling;
- Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) complaints and Financial Service Compensation Scheme (FSCS) complaints;
- Consequential loss claims; and
- Personal and Commercial Banking issues.
I have experience in cryptocurrency and crypto-assets and I am a member of the Crypto Fraud and Asset Recovery group and Tech Advocates London, my areas of expertise include:
- Cryptocurrency fraud claims and asset recovery;
- Freezing Injunctions in relation to crypto-assets;
- Disputes with cryptocurrency exchanges in relation to withheld funds and KYC verification; and
- Advising on the assignment of crypto-assets to a limited company.
Insolvency and Asset Recovery
- Winding Up Petitions and Bankruptcy Petitions;
- Wrongful Trading and Misfeasance Claims or advice;
- Unfair Prejudice and Derivative Claims or advice; and
- Asset recovery for appointed insolvency practitioners.
I have acted on a number of gambling and betting disputes/complaints in relation to the following:
- Breaches of self-exclusion policy;
- Contractual disputes including unpaid winnings;
- Breaches of Gambling Commission's License Conditions and Codes of Practice in relation to social responsibility; and
- Complaints to the Gambling Commission.
Recent Work
- Acting for multiple clients in the HBOS Reading Fraud Re-Review, conducted by Sir David Foskett. Participants in the Re-Review deemed to be victims of the fraud are entitled to an award of £3,000,000, net of tax.
- Advising on a claim involving 36 Ethereum tokens, successfully obtaining judgment.
- Obtaining a freezing injunction and Norwich Pharmacal Order in respect of stolen cryptocurrency held in two exchanges.
- Preparing and advising on an application for a freezing injunction, preservation order and delivery up relating to three cryptocurrency wallets holding more than 150 Ethereum tokens, see Nicholls v Little [2022] 7 WLUK 380.
- Acting for a client in a mediation and obtaining settlement against a national betting operator.
- Advising former directors of a company in liquidation in dealing with queries and potential claims from a liquidator.
- Preparing and issuing contributory winding up petition as a result of a shareholder dispute.
