The Collaborative Process
The collaborative process focuses on reaching an agreement, prioritising the family’s best interests and it involves a dedicated team of professionals to guide you throughout the process.
During the collaborative process, each individual selects a lawyer trained in collaboration. Together, you, your partner, and your respective lawyers convene to resolve matters amicably. Throughout the process, your collaborative lawyer offers continuous support and legal advice.
Additionally, you have the option to engage an independent financial adviser, family consultant, child specialist, or accountant in the collaborative process. These professionals contribute specialist assistance and advice in financial and family-related areas, including children, parenting, communication, and emotional support when necessary. Together, they form your collaborative team.
Upon agreement, you and your team pledge to resolve issues without resorting to court. In the event of a breakdown, the agreement prevents these professionals from representing you in court, emphasising the collective commitment to finding solutions through mutual agreement rather than legal proceedings and in turn, reduces time, money and stress.
Deborah Leask and Sean McNally are qualified collaborative lawyers. They have successfully dealt with multiple complex collaborative cases. With their experience, qualifications, and network of professionals, they will be able to assist and provide a smooth collaborative experience.
