What we got up to over Xmas at Ellis Jones Solicitors
On Friday 6th December, we held our Christmas party at the Marsham Hotel in Bournemouth. The theme was 007 James Bond casino night, so we dressed to impress and had a fantastic evening complete with casino tables, live music and outstanding food.
‘Licence to Party’ was the motto of the night as staff arrived for reception drinks before settling down for a three-course dinner, followed by a speech from Managing Partner, Nigel Smith to thank everyone for all their hard work throughout the year.
Following this, the Ellis Jones Wish winners were drawn from names in a hat – congratulations to Mia Baron and Emily Shepard! The Ellis Jones Wish gives staff the opportunity to take part in an experience they have always wanted to do, and they then share their experience with everyone. This fun initiative makes for great stories, with some doing sky dives, castle tours and other amazing trips.
After the winners were announced, the music turned up a notch and most people flocked over to the themed photobooth, complete with festive props to snap some pictures with their co-workers. Then it was time to try the casino tables and put chips down on red or black to test people’s luck.
The dance floor soon filled up as the party tunes played and a merry time was had by all. We’re all looking forward to the next Ellis Jones Christmas party!
The party wasn’t the end of the merriment, we took part in the Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day on 12th December with the aim to help raise money for Children suffering around the world. Our Canford Cliffs office also took part in the Christmas in Canford Cliffs Village Street event on 17th December. The event was a great success. Thank you to Daisy, Suzi, Lauren, Alex and Janet for all of their efforts!
Jane Wardle went over and above before Christmas (as she did the previous Christmas) and purchased gifts for all of our elderly clients, many who have no family or friends and therefore receive no gifts at Christmas time. She wrapped them beautifully and hand delivered them, often in her own time. It is clear that this really lifted their spirits and made a real difference during a time that can be difficult for many who have lost loved ones or experience loneliness.
And last but certainly not least, our staff attended their department Christmas lunches in their teams, across the Ellis Jones offices to celebrate the achievements of 2024 together over some tasty food. What a way to end 2024!
