Financial Product Mis-selling
Financial product mis-selling includes any circumstances where you have been given incorrect information on a product or not had the financial risk associated with that product adequately explained.
Some specific examples of products which have been mis-sold include:
- Fixed Rate Loans or Tailored Business Loans (“TBLs”)
- Endowments
- Equity Release
- Interest Rate Hedging Products
- Payment Protection Insurance (“PPI”)
- Solar Panels.
If you think you have been mis-sold a financial product, you have a time limit of six years (from date of purchase) to make a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Services, although this could also be three years (from noticing the issue), if this is a longer period of time.
