Complex Child Abduction Case Sparks Interest in the Legal Community
Katie Taft has recently been involved in a novel and complex Child Abduction matter which has sparked considerable interest amongst Judges and Lawyers alike. The case concerns three children who were taken to Spain in March 2013 without the agreement of their father. The issue the English Court was asked to determine was whether they should now entertain an application for the children to remain in Spain despite the Spanish Court ordering the children’s return to England.
Due to its novel nature, the case has been published Re X, Y and Z (children) (Retrospective Leave to Remove from Jurisdiction) [2016] EWHC 2439 (Fam) and has also attracted attention in the legal press.
