Ellis Jones supports Mother’s hard hitting road safety campaign
A mother has released dramatic video footage of the moment her son, David Holmes was killed in a motorcycle accident when a driver turned right across his path. The video shows the head-cam footage from the rider’s helmet and was produced by police with the full support of the family. It includes an interview with the rider’s mother, Brenda.
Although David was exceeding the speed limit, the driver of the car admitted that he had not seen the motorcyclist or the car behind him before the collision.
The video serves as a dramatic warning to motorcyclists and drivers. It is hoped that it will make road users think carefully about their behaviour how they can improve their own safety and the safety of others on the road.
We hope by sharing this video, it will hit home with road users and as David’s mother says “I want to be involved in the campaign because I feel something positive can come out of this loss. If we can prevent one accident; one family going through what we have been through then David would not have died in vain.”
Viewers are warned that this video contains content which some may find distressing, but it does not show any graphic images of the rider during or after the collision and they are given the option to refrain from viewing. To watch the video footage please click here.
