Success at Dorset Legal Awards 2019
A huge congratulations to everyone that took part in the 2019 Dorset Legal Awards, and to those that were successful in winning an award on Friday 1st March.
This year we were shortlisted for a total of nine awards and were delighted to have been announced as winners of a hat-trick.
This year the Greatest Showman themed awards were held at the Bournemouth International Centre gathering together 17 different firms to celebrate the success of one another. The evening involved a fantastic celebration of local talent, great food, dancing and networking with all of the attendees.
We would like to congratulate Clair Phillips for her well deserved win as Rising Star of the Year, and for being the firm’s only individual winner this year.
Our Dispute Resolution department won Team of the Year. Our combined Dispute Resolution team and Banking and
Finance team make up one of the fastest growing and largest specialist teams in the region. They were chosen as winners as a result of their growth, expertise and high profile cases.
We are extremely proud of also winning the Engagement with Education award. This success reflected the amount of training and development support we have given throughout the year to individuals, Charities and educational establishments.
The Dorset Legal Awards were launched by the legal recruitment consultancy ASH Elite in association with IT consultancy Quostar as a way of bringing Dorset’s legal community together. There were a total of 165 nominations received with an independent judging panel whittling this down to a shortlist of 41 across 15 categories.
Nigel Smith, Managing Partner, said: “This is another brilliant result for Ellis Jones and I couldn’t be more proud of my team. The county’s legal sector is booming with more than 200 practices employing over 1,000 qualified legal professionals so to be
shortlisted for an award, let alone win, is a fantastic achievement.”
