The Ellis Jones Training Contract

After graduating in France with a second masters degree specialised in Tax Law and Business Law, I decided that it was time to discover another country and culture. To this end, I started a LLM in International Tax Law at Bournemouth University followed by a LLM in International Financial Law at King’s College London.

Ellis Jones offered the possibility of splitting the Training Contract between the Bournemouth and London offices. The application process is very straightforward and the firm has been very efficient throughout the process. The best tip I could give any applicant would be to be yourself and be passionate. Ellis Jones is a supportive firm which encourages trainees to be proactive and use their initiative.

I started my training contract with Ellis Jones in Business Services, the area I would like to qualify in, and since day one I have been involved in all aspects of transactions from participating in the initial client’s meeting to drafting transactional documents. I have been very lucky to work closely, on a day to day basis, with the head of department which has allowed me to learn a lot on a variety of subjects in a short period of time.

My next seat will be in Banking and Finance Litigation and I look forward to starting a new chapter of my trainee’s life in London.
