I give practical and commercial advice to resolve my client’s cases successfully. With that said, I don’t lose sight of the stress and strain that disputes can bring and the emotional challenges in any dispute. I take a sensitive approach to make sure that my clients feel supported to reach a good result.
Area of Expertise
My particular expertise is in cases concerning disputed trusts and estates, but I have experience and expertise in dealing with a wide range of disputes, such as:
- Challenging the validity of Wills
- Making and defending claims for provision under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975
- Disputes between co-owners of land and property
- Disputes over commercial and residential property
- Making and defending claims to remove trustees or executors
- Disputes over the conduct of trusts or estates
- Claims for breaches of contracts
Recent Work
- Successfully defended a trustee of a multi-million pound trust from accusations of mismanagement and secured recovery of the trustee’s substantial expenses
- Defended the executor of a multi-million pound estate in relation to challenges to the validity of the Will, challenges to the management of the estate, and disputes over the ownership of property
- Successfully acted for the executor and beneficiary of an estate in a case defending a claim from the deceased’s unmarried partner under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975
- Acted for the wife of a deceased person who was left nothing in the deceased’s Will and secured a court order that she should receive the entire estate under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975
- Settled a case for a property developer in a multi-million pound claim over the ownership and management of a portfolio of London properties
- Obtaining an emergency injunction to secure access to a commercial property
- Secured the removal of an executor of a multi-million pound estate on grounds of mismanagement
- Successfully challenged the validity of a Will made by a testator on the basis of the testator’s capacity and undue influence
- Obtained an order that a trustee of a trust should be personally liable for improper trust expenses
