I provide my clients with detailed and practical advice on issues which are background rich and legally complex. I adopt a personable and compassionate approach with my clients and seek to deal with matters efficiently, pragmatically and thoroughly.
I understand that legal disputes, especially those in my area of expertise, can feel stressful, emotionally charged and, at times, overwhelming. For this reason, I deal with my clients’ matters in a professional yet personal manner.
I take an enormous amount of pride in ensuring that my clients are wholly satisfied with the service that they receive from me and the firm.
My pragmatic approach has allowed my clients to reach resolution of their disputes without the need for court proceedings
Area of Expertise
I specialise in Will, Inheritance and Trust Disputes and our team of specialists in this complex and ever-changing area of law work closely with our colleagues in Dispute Resolution to ensure that we can work on all aspects of a matter seamlessly and effectively.
I deal with a wide range of disputes which includes (but is not limited to):
- Will validity claims including challenges based upon: lack of testamentary capacity, lack of knowledge and approval, undue influence and fraudulent calumny
- Inheritance Act claims – claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependents) Act 1975
- Challenging lifetime gifts and transactions on bases including undue influence and lack of capacity
- Actions against executors/co-executors
- Actions under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996
- Probate actions relating to the administration of estates
- Acting for trustees and beneficiaries in Trust disputes
- Acting for attorneys in disputes with co-attorneys in the Court of Protection or with 3rd parties
- Providing personal, ongoing advice to individual executors or beneficiaries throughout the life of an estate’s administration
Recent Work
- Acting for Claimant and Defendant parties to various Inheritance (PFD) Act 1975 claims, from modest to 8-figure estates
- Challenging Wills on the grounds of lack of testamentary capacity, lack of knowledge and approval, undue influence and fraudulent calumny
- Identifying settlement opportunities which took advantage of Inheritance Tax saving opportunities in Will validity disputes
- Challenging lifetime transactions in relation to a multi-generation family business and subsequent Estate dispositions
